I'm guessing you're trying to say 'He's doing something unintentional', but he's doing something unintentional with his *save*, which is *his* save, which only pertains to *him*. Obviously that's gonna impact other people you play with. I never said anything about modding the base health of enemies, I'm talking about giving myself more damage output than what was intended. However, there's already a feature that does this because with everyone's express permission it's valid: Hazard Level. I know a lot of great games that are like that too. The game is still fun when you hit the endgame and don't have anything to unlock or any reason to get minerals. In Hazard 5, well, I play on that difficulty exclusively and I still find myself at risk of failing if I go in with a bad loadout or get extra-difficult RNG. Turns out, and I know this by trying it, that the game is reasonably winnable with no upgrade/perk/etc. World of Warcraft, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and the mainline 2D Pokemon games are all prime examples of this. I don't like artificial difficulty where the challenge is determined by how good your stats are. I cheated when I started because I didn't trust that the game didn't rely too much on stat-based difficulty. But that affects a player's priorities, not the gameplay of the people they're with. I agree that there can be harm caused by messing with the systems that encourage players to do non-necessary things. At the end of the day the game is fun to play because it's fun to play. This is a topic I've held my breath on a lot. There's modded servers where he could experiment. So where do you draw the line? oh this oppressor takes too many bullets, why not just edit the game files to make myself do more damage if it's no big deal? I could argue that doesn't impact anyone either and even benefits the team. To flip this around, why do you think skipping something which *isn't* the focal point in a fun game so you can play and experiment to your heart's content is going to ruin it? Well it's obviously focal to him for time based reasons. If you weren't having enough fun without the desired OC's then chances are the novelty will wear off quickly and you'll be left feeling hollow again. I just find it sad that people are so obsessed with the concept of them that they feel the need to do this to 'finally play the game' as if this is some kind of MMO.
